Goodnotes can display Google Calendar events in its calendar-enabled Goodnotes Planner, subject to availability. That is different from a standard hyperlinked PDF you import yourself. A PDF date tab normally opens another page; it does not connect the file to your calendar.
Correction, 8 September 2026: an earlier version said Goodnotes had no calendar integration. That was too broad. This guide now distinguishes the official integration from ordinary PDF planners.
What the official integration supports
Goodnotes describes the calendar-enabled Planner as an experimental feature rolling out in phases. The Planner requires Pro on Apple platforms, uses the primary Google Calendar and displays events read-only. You cannot create, edit or delete those calendar events from the Planner. Eligibility does not guarantee immediate access. Check the current Goodnotes requirements before buying a subscription for this feature.

For example, if you write “Dentist, Tuesday at 10” on a blank PDF page, treat that as a handwritten note. Add the appointment to your calendar separately if you need an alert. A clickable Tuesday tab only proves navigation works; it is not evidence of event synchronisation.
Check availability before changing your setup
If you want the official feature, follow Goodnotes' instructions for its Marketplace planner and connection flow. If the feature is unavailable to your account, buying an unrelated PDF will not unlock it. Keep your current calendar as the place where appointments are maintained while you check eligibility.
If you already own one of our PDF planners, keep using it for notes and planning. We do not advertise our 2027 Digital Planner as the official calendar-enabled Goodnotes Planner, and this guide does not establish calendar-integration compatibility for it.
A simple workflow for an ordinary PDF
- Open your calendar and check the coming week's appointments.
- Copy only the commitments you need beside your handwritten tasks.
- When an appointment changes, update the calendar first, then amend the copied note.
- Keep reminders in the calendar and task notes in the planner.
This is a suggested manual workflow, not two-way sync. It works best when you are clear about which copy controls appointments. You can also leave appointments entirely in the calendar and use the planner only for priorities, project notes and reflection.

Questions and answers
Does every Goodnotes PDF planner sync with Google Calendar?
No. An imported PDF with date tabs is not automatically connected to Google Calendar. Check the requirements for the separate official calendar-enabled Goodnotes Planner.
Is the official Planner integration two-way?
The documented Planner feature displays calendar events read-only. Manage event changes in your calendar rather than assuming handwritten edits update the event.
Will our 2027 PDF planner unlock the integration?
No such compatibility is established here. Choose our PDF for its listed layout and navigation features, not as a way to unlock the official integration.
